As Your First Contact with the City of Kingston, I will:
Be honest, genuine, and accountable
Work hard and devote full-time hours to making Meadowbrook-Strathcona a better place for all of us and our children
Be accessible, and hold regular drop-in public consultations every Sunday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the Kingston Coffee House in the Kingston Centre or by appointment
Respond to all emails and phone calls from constituents within 48 hours
As Your Representative on City Council, I will:
Consider all proposals from a short, medium, and long term perspective
Make policy decisions on behalf of the people of Meadowbrook-Strathcona, with the best interests of the community at heart
Contribute your ideas and priorities to the strategic plan to advance Meadowbrook-Strathcona and the whole City
Take your issues to my Council colleagues and/or City staff, both formally and/or informally to get the best resolution
In the Role of a Councillor on the Board of Directors for the Corporation of the City of Kingston, I will:
Take seriously my fiduciary responsibilities to the stewardship of the assets and budget of the City of Kingston
Make sure to be faithful to the mission of good, honest, accountable and transparent local government
Make sure to hold senior staff accountable for performance, and be sure the corporation is compliant with relevant laws and regulations
Maintain integrity and declare any potential conflict of interest; recusing myself when in a conflict of interest
Conduct rigorous evaluation and oversight of City of Kingston policies and council motions
Support and promote policies and practices that discourage waste, prevent abuse, and/or promote efficiency and effectiveness
Seek out, identify, and foster strategic partnerships that help the City of Kingston deploy resources most effectively and with the greatest impact
Be alert to emerging opportunities and bring them to the attention of those most able to capitalize on them
Be alert to emerging threats to the City and/or people of Kingston and bring them to the attention of those most able to prepare for and/or to defend against them
Bring, and allow for, a diversity of higher order human values and insights to be expressed in generative discussions
